The Jefferson Police Department recently released their results from the latest sPECIAL Traffic Enforcement Program.

Captain Heath Enns says from August 23rd through September 5th, they issued 16 citations and 61 warnings to motorists. There were four citations given for speeding, two for stop sign or stop light violations, one each for a seat belt violation and driving with a suspended or revoked license. Additionally, eight citations were issued for other traffic violations. Twenty-two warnings were for vehicle equipment violations.

Officers also investigated two traffic accidents and served one arrest warrant during the Labor Day sTEP Wave.

Last year, during the Labor Day sTEP Wave, officers issued 23 citations and 53 warnings.
