The ADM Lady Tiger volleyball team will be hitting the road tonight to square off in a Raccoon River Conference showdown at Ballard High School.

ADM, newly introduced to the class 4A volleyball rankings the last week, has yet again been on an upward trend moving from their 12th place ranking to their newly acquired 10th place ranking after defeating Boone last week. They will now head into tonight’s contest with the Lady Bombers of Ballard having won their last three matches and yielding an overall record of 11-3.

The Lady Tigers have risen to their new ranking in large part by the one aspect that head coach Mary Beth Scott continues to work with an instill in her team with consistency. Coach Scott told Raccoon Valley Radio how consistency allows her team to go on lengthy runs and continue with positive momentum to win matches.

” We talk a lot about trying to get three points in a row. You want to keep that momentum going and it’s not get a point, give a point, get a point, give a point. Instead you want to get three points in a row because that just helps build your lead. If we do really poorly in a game we usually have just one or two runs; if we do well in a game we’re having five runs, six runs, and so just that consistency of getting several points in a row is so beneficial for us and we keep track of it and try to point it out and get them (the players) to focus on hey we need to get two more points or we need to get three more points. That’s also helped motivate them as well,” stated coach Scott.

The Lady Tigers will march on into Ballard tonight as the Raccoon River Conference’s only representative inside the class 4A rankings. The Lady Tigers and the Lady Bombers will commence with their match starting at 7:00 pm.
