We are heading into the final stretch of the farmers market season in Greene County.
Manager Jack Schilling says his first-year taking over organizing the weekly summer event has gone smoothly.
“Well, it’s been a pretty good one. All the vendors have been very welcoming and they’ve been able to help me along with things when I haven’t been able to do them. The people who come here, all the customers, they’re great. There haven’t been any incidents, everyone just comes, they get their stuff, they talk with the vendors and everyone is just happy here. Yeah, it’s just been a good experience.”
Schilling tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he’s learned that you have to listen to the vendors and how to take care of the financials for the farmers market. He invites anyone who wants to sell their locally grown produce, home baked goods or crafts, to the final two farmers markets of the year. Contact Schilling at 370-3972 or email him at jackmschilling@gmail.com.
The final two farmers markets are today and next Tuesday from 4 to 6:30pm on the east side of the courthouse in Jefferson.
