The Jefferson Police Department is asking the public’s help with a recent rash of car burglaries.

Police have been receiving several calls about car burglaries in the past week. The suspects have been targeting unlocked vehicles, but they are now starting to breaking into vehicles to steal items. Officials believe these crimes are connected.

The suspects have also been seen walking through town at odd hours while wearing concealing clothing. The suspects have also been reported to be in the rural parts of Greene County.

Anyone who believes they are a victim of a car burglary, or if you see “suspicious activity” are asked to contact the Police Department at 386-2136.
