High school sporting events are not played on paper, but if tonight volleyball match between Greene County and Monroe were, it might be considered to close to declare a winner. Coach Donna Carhill’s Rams are 4-14 in matches while PCM is also 4-14. The Rams are 1-3 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play and the Mustangs are 1-2. Both teams have a victory over winless Saydel (Des Moines) for their lone HOIAC wins to this point, but the comparisons don’t end there. Both the Rams and Mustangs scored the same amount of points (75) and allowed the same amount of points (34) vs. the Eagles.
Tonight’s winning team will get a leg up on the other in the conference standings. The Rams are hoping to break a six match losing streak.
