After taking to the road this past Saturday to square off against rather unfamiliar opponents, the ADM Lady Tiger volleyball team is back in the comforts of home taking on a familiar Winterset Husky team tonight.
The Lady Tigers enter back into conference play tonight where they have found great comfort this season. The 10th ranked Lady Tigers have enjoyed a conference season so far where 41% of their total kills for the season have come within conference play and where 42% of all their aces have come against conference opponents. ADM currently leads the conference in aces with 111 while putting out great work defensively totaling 134 blocks good for second in the conference behind Bondurant-Farrar.
ADM’s great conference record so far has been the result of great improvement in consistency as the Lady Tigers have an 8 game and 7 game winning streak this season. Consistency has been a big topic that head coach Mary Beth Scott has preached to her team, and a big part of the consistently great play is not just the performance of the team leaders, but the freshmen players as well. The freshmen players on this years ADM volleyball team have shown that they can step up to any challenge and play like an experienced group.
Coach Scott spoke with Raccoon Valley Radio with high praise for her freshmen players who she says really doesn’t play like freshmen.
The Lady Tigers will take their 5-0 conference record and their class 4A 10th ranking into their match up tonight against a Winterset team still searching for their first conference win of the season. ADM is looking to pick up where they left off in conference play after winning at home against Carlisle last Thursday and will look for a repeat performance in tonight’s match up. The Lady Tigers and the Lady Huskies will commence with their match tonight starting at 7:00.
