A two semi-tractor trailer accident in Greene County results in at least one injury.
The Greene County Sheriff’s office, Iowa State Patrol, Scranton Fire Department and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash at 3:39pm Tuesday on Highway 25, south of Scranton.
Deputy Dave Kersey tells Raccoon Valley Radio that semi-tractor trailer carrying a load of soybeans was heading north on Highway 25. A second semi-tractor trailer was stopped on Locust Street waiting to turn south onto the highway. The first semi had their turn signal on and was going to turn at the next intersection, when the second semi turned in front of the first semi, causing the accident.
Kersey adds that three people were involved in the accident and one person was transported to Greene County Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. Names of the victims are not being released at this time.
The Iowa State Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
