Greene County youth are invited to the fall classes for babysitting training.
Extension Director Lori Mannel says the babysitting basics is for any youth in fifth through eighth grades. She adds that the program will be on two Saturdays on October 22nd and 29th from 8:30am to noon.
“I know kids’ schedules are so busy this time of year, so we felt the two half-days would be best for them. It’s going to be held at the Extension office (in Jefferson). So you do need to register for that.”
Topics that will be covered include the responsibilities for a babysitter, expectations from employers, entertaining different ages of kids, handling emergencies and first aid along with preparing healthy snacks.
The cost is $35 per youth to participate. Call or stop by the Extension office for more information or to sign up.
