Two Greene County area businesses were recent recipients of the “Top 150 Best Workplaces” by the Des Moines Register.

The survey is divided into three categories with businesses split up into small, mid-size and large-size employees. Home State Bank in Jefferson ranked 7th out of 75 in the small category, employing 35 people. Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson ranked 38th out of 75 in the mid-size category, employing 272 people.

The selections are based on employee surveys that are conducted in late spring and overseen by Workplace Dynamics. The hospital was rated on a scale from “strongly agree” to “strongly disagree” based on workplace practices and job satisfaction.

The two were recognized at a special luncheon in September. This is the second consecutive year the medical center has been chosen to the award. Last year, they ranked 33 out of 50 mid-size companies.
