img_2498When Joyce VanKirk told Cheri Scheib she wanted to come up with a way to promote the Let’s Connect efforts to build a section of trail between the Raccoon River Valley Trail and the High Trestle Trail, Scheib knew just what she wanted to do.

Now that the Bike Bike Project is on display for the public, Scheib says her goal is to inspire others.

“I want this to be contagious.  That has been the whole kind of impetus behind this.  I want people to think ‘Oh, I think we could do something, we could make people come look at our town.’  That’s what we were really wanting, for people to stop, take a look around, maybe look across the street ‘Oh there’s the Hotel Pattee, maybe we’ll go over there and get some lunch’ or ‘Let’s go over to (Ben’s Five and Dime)’ or whatever.  We just want people to look around and like our town.”

Scheib says who knows, maybe after having a good first impression someone will realize they want to move to Perry.

As for what’s next, Scheib says she has other ideas in mind but doesn’t want to reveal what they are just yet.
