The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday in regular session.
The Supervisors heard an update from Conservation Director Joe Hanner. He said that fall camping numbers are doing well and that all the 2015 flood projects are completed. The Board then appointed Paul Wendle as the Cass Township Trustee.
County Attorney Mary Benton addressed the Board about a potential conflict of interest with the county’s current attorney for their lawsuit. She said Mike Richards with Davis-Brown Law Firm in Des Moines is the attorney working on the lawsuit, but he also represents another case that could cause a conflict of interest. The Supervisors agreed to have Benton find a new attorney. She later told the Board that through Iowa Communities Assurance Pool they found Hopkins and Huebner Law Firm as the new lawyer.
Finally, the Board approved the county’s substance abuse prevention services agreement with New Opportunities.
