Two people were hurt and one was cited after a two vehicle accident in Greene County Wednesday.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s office, at 12:56pm a deputy, the Jefferson Police and Fire departments and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to a crash at the intersection of Mulberry Street and Highway 30.
According to the report, 78 year-old Maurice Eldon Wistenberg of Jefferson was stopped at the stop sign on Mulberry Street and proceeded to cross the highway heading south. Her 2004 Chevrolet pickup was hit by a 2016 Toyota, driven by 33 year-old Ayana Tahirah Pusha of Savannah, Georgia, that was heading east. Pusha suffered minor injuries and was taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County EMS. Wistenberg was also taken to the medical center by private vehicle for observation. She was then issued a citation for failure to yield upon entering a through intersection.
Both vehicles were total losses.
