It was a David vs. Goliath match up as the ADM football Tigers hit the road to take on  Creston last Friday night.

While the game did play out like a David Vs. Goliath match up, Friday’s match up did not end like the stories. When the dust settled ADM would find themselves on the unfortunate side of a 42-7 loss.

The scoring action kicked off as Creston earned the first three scores of the game, all compliments of  running back Chase Shiltz, scoring first with 9:44 left in the first while the second quarter added two more scores to the mix. The Tigers tried make a game late in the first half scoring with just 1:21 heading into halftime on a 10 yard throw from Sam McCartney to Austin Flora to decrease the deficit now 21-7 at the half.

There would be three scores in the second half, all of which would come in the third quarter, and unfortunately for the Tigers, all would come at the hands of the Panthers. Creston would answer ADM’s late first half score by taking less than a minute off to start the second half with a Zach Carlson 55 yard run with 11:37 left to go in the third quarter. Carlson would score again on a similar end around run this time for 45 yards to increase the Panther lead 35-7 with 5:41 left in the third.

One final third quarter score by the Panthers on a 7 yard touchdown run by quarterback Kaylan Smallwood set the score at 42-7 and initiated the continuous clock.

From there neither team would score in the fourth quarter and the game would eventually end to the tune of a Creston victory over ADM 42-7.

ADM quarterback Sam McCartney went 19/37 through the air for 189 yards and one score. The ground game didn’t have a factor in this game as the Tigers as a whole had just 6 yards netted on the ground. Leading the way on the receiving end once again was Austin Flora hauling in 7 receptions for 81 yards and one score.

Unfortunatley with the loss, ADM’s hopes of entering the playoffs have been thwarted with their third district loss. That means that next weeks contest for the Tigers will most likely be the last of the season as they welcome in Glenwood for the season finale at Tiger Stadium.
