The Guthrie County Relay for Life committee is hosting a Halloween themed fundraiser this weekend.
The Zombie Fun Run and Walk takes place at the county fairgrounds on Saturday.
Organizer Becky Peterson says they wanted to do something new this year and since zombies are very popular right now they thought it would be a hit with the community.
“We invite everybody to come in costume. Throughout the walk we’re going to have kind of a scary/creepy walk as you go through the fairgrounds. Once you make it through, the last thing you’re going to go through is the haunted barn, which is going to be a little bit more scary.”
Registration for the 5k starts at 5:30pm with the race beginning at 6:15pm. Runners or walkers of all ages are invited to participate. The cost to register the day of the event is $35 and shirts will be available for those who do not want to walk for $15 for adults, or $10 for youth sizes.
We’ll hear more from Peterson on tomorrow’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County.
