This past weekend the ADM Lady Tiger volleyball team took to to the road to square off in one last regular season tournament of the 2016 season in Knoxville.

In that tournament the Lady Tigers came away with a 2-2 record overall which rests their overall record now at 23-10 breaking double digit losses for the first time in 2016. The first match of the day on Saturday was against Saydel high school where the Lady Tigers would take the match easily in two sets 21-5 and 21-15. Not a huge match statistically wise but one Lady Tiger in particular had a very good game in that match as freshmen Abbie Hlas went 10-12 in successful serves for 5 aces on the night.

ADM’s second match up of the day was against a tough Iowa Falls-Alden team. ADM played tough taking the first set 21-17 but it would be the Lady Cadets who would eventually get the last laugh winning set number two 25-21 and sneaking away with the match win in set number three winning 16-14. A double dose of individuals had a good game in that match up as Jordan Hook led the way with 14 digs, went 15 of 16 from the serve line, and added three aces to the cause. Junior Sami Schepers had a good match as well putting up 14 kills, 8 digs, while leading the team in blocks with 9 for the match.

Their next match up against Union Community was less than desirable for the Lady Tigers as ADM was defeated in two sets 21-11 and 21-18. ADM was held to just one ace, one block, and eleven kills for the match but did end up with 27 successful serves out of 31 attempts.

Finally in their last match up of the tournament, ADM found their way back on the winning trail as they defeated Albia handily in two sets 21-15 and 21-7. An overall good match from the Lady Tigers who went 35 of 41 from the serve line and totaled 9 aces, 7 blocks, 18 digs, and 11 kills for the contest.

Now the 23-10 Lady Tigers will have just under a week left for their break before they resume back up for regional play taking on the winner of the Ballard and Dallas Center Grimes match up which commences tonight. ADM will welcome in the winner of that game to ADM high school next Tuesday beginning at 7:00 pm.
