For those younger-aged people that can’t vote in the upcoming November general election, several area school districts have signed up to participate in the Iowa Youth Straw Poll.

According to the Iowa Secretary of State’s office, Greene County High School, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School, Panorama Middle School and West Central Valley Middle School join 184 other schools across the state in the straw poll. The goal is to allow students to learn through hands-on experience to inspire them to exercise their civic duties as citizens in their communities.

Students will be asked to vote for their favorite presidential candidate, as well as the US Senate and Representative races.

The straw poll will be conducted on November 1st.
