Greene County ExtensionThose looking for certification to apply pesticides commercially can do so starting later this week in Greene County.

Extension Director Lori Mannel says the first of the fall commercial pesticide applicator trainings is happening on Wednesday, October 19th. The first session is on aquatic, forest and right of way pest management for categories 2, 5, 6 and 10. Mannel says there are several more trainings that they will host at the Extension coming up later this year.

“There’s about a series of eight different commercial pesticide applicator trainings. They start on October 19th and it looks like the last one will be December 7th. Sometimes we are able on demand and Laura (Ballard) can help you get set up if you need a class available. There’s an additional fee if you take the class if it’s not in the normal series.”

The fee to participate is $35. Pre-registration is encouraged by calling or stopping by the Extension office in Jefferson.
