New Opportunities of Greene County has teamed up with Adopt-A-Family for the Warm Hearts program.
New Opportunities Coordinator Teresa Lansman says Warm Hearts is a clothing drive in which they collect new or gently used coats, snowpants and boots for the winter season. They will be distributing the items on October 22nd. Last year, about 125 kids benefited from the program and this year numbers are down, but Lansman believes now that the colder weather is here, more people will take advantage of the program.
“We will try to help out who we can and I always have clothes out here at my office and have them for the $2 bag or if somebody’s in a hardship case, we can help them out with them.”
She adds that they are still accepting donations of coats, snowpants and boots. Call or stop by the New Opportunities office in Jefferson.
