The Jefferson Kiwanis Club’s annual fundraiser is going on now.
Silent auction items are available for bid in the south room of the Greene County Courthouse in Jefferson. Items will remain on display until the Kiwanis pancake breakfast on October 29th at the Jefferson Elks Lodge. President Mike Palmer says the auction started with service items for people to bid on and it has grown to include baskets and other goodies, but he still likes the service items.
“A couple of us in the Kiwanis are going together to put out a service to mow your yard. You can have us mow it once (or) you can have us mow it five times. But if you’re out of town, it would be a good service to think about. There’s things like that (or) people make meals. If you want to have a group of people over, there’s maybe a group spaghetti dinner that you would like to buy and have someone bring it in.”
The pancake breakfast will be on October 29th from 6 to 11am at the Elks Lodge. Tickets for the meal are $7 and those ages ten and under are $2 each.
All proceeds will go back to local projects in the community.
