perry signThe City of Perry is in search of both a building official and a city clerk.

As we previously reported, Steve Tibbles resigned from the building official position at the end of September and City Clerk Corey Eastman has also submitted his resignation.

City Administrator Sven Peterson explains Perry’s plans for filling the vacancies.

“The building official position was posted last week, the city clerk’s position will be posted this week. Hopefully, November will be the month of interviews and resume review. Hopefully some time in late December or early January we’ll be able to get some people on board and start training them to take over those positions.”

In the interim, Peterson and Finance Officer Susie Moorhead have been taking over the City Clerk duties. The City Council approved a $500 increase in salary every two weeks for each of them, as a means of compensation for the extra work and hours.
