dc conservationJust because the weather is cooling down, doesn’t mean all opportunities to get out and enjoy nature disappear.

As Museum Curator Pete Malmberg explains, the Conservation Board offers opportunities year round.

“Everybody thinks we’re totally shut down in the winter, that’s not true.  Forest Park is open weekdays year-round.  And then don’t forget Sportsman’s Park’s cabins are available for renting this winter.  So in the off season you can still call us up and rent a cabin and those of course are heated, air conditioned and have a bathroom.  Sportsman’s is quite beautiful in the snow, so come out and rent from us.”
