A local non-profit organization is hoping a new event will draw more support from the communities they serve.

Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity is hosting their first ever garage sale. It will be held this weekend at the Jefferson office. Associate Director Jeff Lamoureux says they are accepting donation items prior to their new event. They are looking for new or gently used home improvement materials including windows, doors, kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures, lighting and other items. All items can be dropped of at the Jefferson office at 114 South Chestnut Street from now and until this Thursday at 4pm.

The garage sale will take place from 4 to 6pm this Friday and from 8 to 11am on Saturday.
