Authorities have apprehended a person of interest in the double homicide investigation in Perry.
Police Chief Eric Vaughn says they found the blue Honda Pilot that’s in connection with the case around 8am Sunday. Authorities have detained a person of interest and are currently questioning the person at this time.
Law enforcement doesn’t feel the public is in any danger at this time.
According to the department’s press release, they responded to a call of a possible deceased subject at 7:48pm Saturday. When officers arrived on scene at 802 6th Street, they found three victims. Two did not survive and a third had to be transported to Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines by air ambulance.
Names are not being released at this time, pending autopsy results and family notifications.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s office and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation assisted at the scene.
