Landus-Logo_Color-300x159Landus Cooperative has completed their $27 million expansion to their SoyPlus plant in Ralston.

The project was announced on June 3, 2015 and has stayed on schedule and was recently completed late last month. The new addition includes mechanical presses, soybean and soybean oil storage, finished product storage and load-out access. Landus can now increase its soybean processing capacity by 50 percent. It can also take in an additional six million bushels of soybeans each year, for a total of 20 million bushels annually.

SoyPlus is an industry-leading high bypass protein dairy feed ingredient used all over the world.

Landus estimates that nearly 50 percent of all soybeans purchased from farmers this year, from their 70 grain locations, will be processed at the Ralston plant.

CEO Milan Kucerak says “This project demonstrates our commitment to long-term investments in value-added products for the benefit of our farmer-owners, dairy customers, and local communities alike.”

The expansion also created 11 new, full-time jobs.
