About 200 enjoyed the 18th annual Jefferson Rotary Charity Dinner and Auction at the new location at the Greene Room events center Wild Rose in Jefferson Friday night.
The Rotary’s main fundraising event brought over $33,000. There were 61 live and 112 silent auction items for attendees to bid on. The main live auction item of the night was the return of the African safari trip, which was auctioned off two years ago and this year it was the top bidding item that brought in $5,000.
Rotary President Adam Peterson says the event was another success.
“We had a great turnout of 200 people, way more than we normally have. Everyone the whole night had a great time, it was a wonderful evening. I thank everybody who donated and everybody who bought items tonight. ”
Auction Chair John Brunow says he’s impressed with all the changes that were made to this year’s auction.

“We wanted to have an event that people were more engaged and stayed longer. We made a lot of changes and we were concerned about that. But it seems as though they have worked out and it seems as though this has been a successful auction and something that we can build on. ”
All proceeds will go back to local projects and organizations in Greene County.
