This past weekend laid host to the end of the season awards banquet for the West Central Valley Wildcat football team.

Starting off with the team awards as voted by the players, sophomore Cole Sackett took home the 2016 attitude award, Knick Badker earned the commitment award, with senior Cody Hansen earning the effort award.

Entering the all district honors, the Wildcats had 7 total players spread out across all honors. In the honorable mention category, Billy Larsen and Carsen Schneller earned spots for defensive back and defensive line respectively while Logan Pruitt earned his honorable mention honor in the offensive line position.

Moving on up to the second team all district honors, the Wildcats witnessed Cody Hansen, Alan Wallace, and Cole Arnburg earn second team all district honors. Hansen earned his way in the linebacker position as the senior led the Wildcats with 101 tackles on the year. Junior Allan Wallace earned his place on the second team all district defensive line totaling 37 tackles and 3 sacks on the season. Cole Arnburg earned his right to be on the second team by hauling in 23 receptions for 311 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.

The first team all district team included one Wildcat with dual roles in the form of junior receiver/punter Brock Wolfe. Wolfe led the Wildcats in receiving by hauling in 21 receptions for 510 yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. Wolfe received the nod for first team all district in punting by becoming second in all of class 1A in total punting yards with 1,768 averaging 39.3 yards per punt.

The Wildcats on the season earned a 2-7 overall record and a 1-6 district record.
