One person was injured in a single vehicle accident Wednesday in Greene County.

Sheriff Steve Haupert says at 2:50am two deputies, Churdan Fire and Rescue and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the accident at the T-intersection of 130th Street and D Avenue.

Fifty-nine year-old John Husted Berg of Churdan was heading east on 130th Street when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign and drove his 2003 GMC Yukon into the east ditch. Berg suffered a non-life threatening head injury at the scene. He was taken to Greene County Medical Center and was later transported by Greene County EMS to a Des Moines hospital. His current condition is unknown at this time. His wife was in the front seat and was uninjured. The vehicle is considered to be a total loss.

Haupert adds that charges are pending completion of their investigation and results from a blood test from the Department Criminalistics Laboratory.
