The 2016-17 high school girls’ basketball season for Greene County is underway with practice. The Rams play their first game on Tuesday, Nov. 22 in Monroe vs. Heart of Iowa Activities Conference rival PCM. Head coach Dean Lyons and assistant Jeff Lamoureux are both in their second seasons in their respective positions.
The Rams had three wins a season ago and with five letter winners returning, are hoping for a higher number in the victory column. Junior Laurin Lyons averaged 7.7 points last season for a squad that scored only 26.6 per game. Lyons led the team in points scored, and she’s joined by fellow junior Onica Delp, and seniors Kenna Marquardt, Hannah Promes, and Taylor Wessling.
The Nov. 22 game and all Greene County girls and boys basketball games can be heard on KG98 and streamed “live” on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
