Greene County 4-H’ers recently participated in a new community service project in support of New Opportunities.

Extension Director Lori Mannel says they collected over 400 new or gently used books and boardgames. There was also a competition between the 4-H clubs of who could collect the most items. Scranton Barnstormers came out on top with 139 items and won an ice cream party.

All items collected throughout the month of October will be given to New Opportunities for the less fortunate youth to enjoy during the holiday season.

Mannel would like to thank everyone to donated their books and boardgames and the 4-H’ers for participating.
