kevin-montoyaA Jefferson man was sentenced to probation for a September incident.

According to court documents, 19 year-old Kevin Armando Montoya pled guilty to an amended charge of a Class D Felony for second degree theft. He was originally charged with two Class C Felonies for first degree theft and first degree criminal mischief.

The charge stems from an incident on September 15th when Montoya stole a Greene County Secondary Road Department pickup truck in the 200 block of West Russell Street. He had his five year prison sentence suspended and was placed on probation for five years. His sentence is to run consecutively with his probation revocation from an unrelated criminal mischief conviction from January 2016.

Montoya was also ordered to pay over $1,000 in fines, court costs, attorney fees, surcharges and victim restitution.
