Despite a shortened week for ACGC athletics, there will still be some basketball action before the turkey is carved.

Today both new girls head basketball coach James Blythe and the ACGC girls basketball team will kick off their first ever game action under the Charger name with their first full game of the season. The Lady Chargers will reside in the comforts of home for their opener and will lay host to Audubon high school. A lot of emotions surrounding the ACGC girls basketball team but never the less, as coach Blythe told Raccoon Valley Radio, it will be a fun first game for him and his team.

“It’s going to be fun playing for the first time as ACGC at home in front of our crowd and so I know our kids are going to be pumped up and hopefully we can over come the adrenaline and play basketball the way I think we can. It’s going to be a real fun night, it’s the start of something new,” explained coach Blythe.

The Lady Chargers will kick off their first game from Guthrie Center beginning at 7:30 pm.

The boys team will follow that up by catching a glimpse of game action on Tuesday when they travel to Elk-Horn-Kimballton high school for a Jamboree contest playing two 8 minute quarters. The Chargers will kick off their Jamboree contest beginning at 6:00 pm.
