South Dakota State found out this past Sunday that they had earned one of the top 8 seeds in the upcoming 24 team FCS playoff format. The Jackrabbits were one of four teams from the powerful Missouri Valley Football Conference joining 5x defending national champion North Dakota State, 2014 runner up Illinois State and Youngstown State led by former Nebraska Head Coach Bo Pelini. The Jacks earned the school’s first share of the MVFC school title.
The Jacks earned a first round bye and will host the winner between St Francis and Villanova. Former Perry all stater Will Whiton is listed as a reserve defensive back and key special teams contributor. He has 2 tackles and one pass break up along with one pass defended.
