Downtown building owners in Jefferson are encouraged to take advantage of a mini-grant to improve the outside look of their business.
Jefferson Matters: Main Street design committee offers up to $250 in grant funds for improvements to the historic exterior appearance of the downtown buildings. Program Director Peg Raney hopes that a certain group of businesses applies for the mini-grants.
“I guess what I would encourage is those (businesses) that are not involved in the CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) grant want to do some just freshening up in terms of tuck-pointing, paint, replacement of doors and windows or removal of nonconforming elements like taking out an air conditioner that’s not being used anymore or something like that.”
Applications are available at the Main Street office on Lincoln Way or online at jeffersonmatters.org. The application will be reviewed by the committee and the funds are available on a reimbursement basis only.
