It was a heated match up for the Lady Charger basketball team as they took for the road in their first road game of the regular season in Madrid.

Looking for their first win, the Lady Chargers would pull through in a close game coming away with a one point victory 38-37.

The lead changed hands at the end of every quarter in the contest. What started as a 15-7 lead for Madrid at the end of one quarter turned into a 14-6 second quarter run for the lady Chargers to end the half all tied up at 21-21. While Madrid took the third quarter 9-7, it was ACGC who would get the last laugh going on a 10-7 run in the fourth quarter to eek out with the one point 38-37 victory.

Senior Leigan Laughery and sophomore Sierra O’Brien both led the way in scoring with 10 points a piece followed by the tag team of junior Madison Berger and junior Morgan Meacham both with 8 points a piece.

With the win the Lady Chargers now improve to 1-1 and will now set their sights on their Friday match up back in the friendly confines of ACGC high school for another girl/boy double header against Ogden high school. The girls game will kick off the action beginning at 6:00 pm followed by boys game tip off at 7:30 pm.
