The Greene County High School FFA chapter is hosting an induction ceremony tomorrow night.
Advisor Katie Akers says they will have a jacket ceremony on Friday night at 7pm in the high school auditorium in Jefferson. FFA member Brock Wuebker explains why they have a jacket ceremony.
“This is only the second year of doing this after last year, it was a great turnout. We have one just so those new FFA members get recognized for being a part of FFA and what they’re about to do for our chapter.”
The ceremony includes the new members receiving their jackets, which will be worn by each student over their next four years as a symbol of pride for all other members. FFA member Brock Badger talks about why he joined FFA.
“I wanted to be a part of FFA to just get involved in more ag activities. It is also very important because it teaches you lots of skills about agriculture and things you can use in life.”
The Greene County Cattlemen’s Association is co-sponsoring the ceremony by purchasing all of the jackets for the new members.
