Tonight the Panorama Panther wrestling team will be back on the mats as they partake in a Triangular at Van Meter high school against the host Bulldogs and fellow Guthrie County rival the West Central Valley Wildcats.

The last time the Panthers stepped foot into this particular triangular match up it was quite successful coming out with no losses, one win, and one tie. The win was to their county rival West Central Valley defeating the Wildcats 39-33 and the Panthers return all of their firepower from last year that helped them do so. The Panthers earned the win with three victories by fall, one 6-2 decision, and 2 forfeits.

The Panthers will be looking to settle some unfinished business against Van Meter after ending with a 33-33 tie against the Bulldogs last year. Returning state qualifier George Appelseth is just one of the few Panther wrestlers to take a tough loss and looking for sweet revenge tonight as he and the rest of the Panthers aim to improve upon a 3 fall, once 3-0 decision, and two forfeit performance in the last go round.

Tonight will be one of many consecutive matches for the Panthers over the course of the next two days as following tonight’s contest, Panorama goes right back to the mats tomorrow for a tournament at Central Decatur high school.

The Triangular for tonight will be held at Van Meter high school beginning at 6:00 pm.
