Several cats were recently found in a hoarding case from Warren County and an animal care agency is looking for help from the public.

Linn Price from Paton’s Animal Protection and Education agency is asking the public for financial donations and homes for some 130 cats. Price points out that the Animal Rescue League in Des Moines was asked to take the cats, but they are at or slightly over capacity.

She notes that APE now has a mobile care unit to help with situations like this, but she needs donations to help with supplies before they can help treat the animals. She is requesting at least $7,000 just in supplies alone. She is also looking for places for these cats to stay. Of the 130 cats, 30 of them are house cats and the other 100 are barn cats.

Call APE at 515-460-7729 or their website at goape.info to learn more or to make a donation.10
