A Guthrie County Farmer has been selected for the Iowa Farm Bureau’s Bob Joslin Excellence in Ag award.
Adam Ebert of Coon Rapids was chosen for his passion of telling the story of Iowa agriculture and community involvement.
The award is given to a young farmer, under 35 years-old, who demonstrates outstanding leadership in Farm Bureau, agriculture and community. It is named after former IFBF President Bob Joslin who was known for his support and encouragement of young producers.
Ebert holds a triple major in agribusiness, international agriculture and agricultural studies from Iowa State University. He and his family began farming in Guthrie County six years ago. They raise hogs and cattle and grow corn, soybeans and hay. Adam’s wife Mary also works for the local ISU Extension office.
Ebert says “It’s important for young farmers to get involved in farm organizations like the Farm Bureau because any new regulations will have the greatest impact on this younger generation in the future.”
He was presented the award at the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation’s annual meeting in Des Moines.
