A Jefferson man pled guilty to an amended charge from a November incident.

According to court documents, 47 year-old Richard Lee Norton pled guilty to a simple misdemeanor for assault and was ordered to pay a $100 fine, along with surcharges, court-appointed attorney fees and victim restitution.

The charge stems from a reported domestic abuse call in the 600 block of South Mulberry Street just after midnight on November 13th.

Norton was originally charged with a Class D Felony for third or subsequent office for domestic abuse assault. However, court documents show that the charge was changed to a simple misdemeanor for assault.
