Property owners in some communities in Guthrie County are reminded about their snow removal sidewalk ordinances.
For Guthrie Center property owners, they have ten hours after a snow event to clear snow and ice accumulations from their sidewalks. Panora property owners have within 12-hours following a snow event and in Stuart, property owners have 48-hours to remove snow and ice accumulations from their sidewalks. Additionally, Panora property owners are reminded that if a resident cannot remove snow or ice from the sidewalks that a salt or sand treatment is permissible.
In each community, failure to comply with the ordinance will result with City crews removing it for the property owner and assessing the cost against them.
Call your respective city hall with any questions or more information.
