A deputy spoke with a rural resident in the 2300 block of 330th Street about a harassment concern from text messages being received.
Friday, December 16th
A deputy assisted a Meskwaki Police Officer with helping determine the identity of several Greene County residents involved in criminal acts in Tama County.
Deputies were advised of the burglary and theft of tools from a rural building site in Greene County.
A deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of Harding Street in Churdan regarding several juvenile males involved in an altercation after school.
A deputy spoke with a Churdan resident about a child custody civil issue.
A deputy checked a vehicle that had ran off the roadway and rolled onto its top at the intersection of 170th Street and T Avenue. The driver reported that he was not injured and had left the scene. He indicated that the vehicle would be removed when conditions improved.
A deputy provided a ride for the driver and passenger of a vehicle that had slid off the roadway near the Raccoon River Bridge, west of Jefferson on Highway 30. The vehicle was later removed by the owner.
Saturday, December 17th
A deputy provided traffic control for a semi-tractor trailer that was being removed from the roadway on 170th Street and X Avenue.
A deputy was dispatched to Churdan for a described vehicle that was driving recklessly in the school parking lot. The described pickup was not located by the deputy at that time.
A deputy was dispatched to the 1000 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction to check a residence with an open front door. The home was determined to be secure.
A deputy was unable to locate a reported vehicle in the ditch on Highway 144 near the Boone-Greene County line.
A deputy, while on routine patrol, located a vehicle in the ditch on old Highway 30, east of Jefferson on the S curves. Alexa Nikoal Anthony 21, of Jefferson, reported that she was west bound and lost control of her 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix on the curve and it entered the ditch. Alexa Anthony was not injured but her vehicle was estimated to be a total loss.
A deputy was not able to locate an abandoned vehicle that was reported to be near the Raccoon River Bridge, north of Scranton.
A deputy was advised of a dog running at large in the 600 block of Hills Street in Churdan. The described dog was not located at that time.
Saturday, December 18th
A deputy checked an abandoned vehicle on A Avenue near Ralston.
A deputy was dispatched to the 1000 block of Grant Street in Scranton to check the welfare of a juvenile female that was reported standing out in the cold weather. The girl was located and found to be safe and warm.
A deputy was advised of a harassment concern from a resident living in the 500 block of 16th Street North in Grand Junction.
A deputy spoke with a Scranton resident in the 300 block of Irving Street about a personal property civil issue involving the nonpayment of a vehicle.
A deputy was unable to locate a reported erratic and careless driver that was eastbound on Highway 30 from Carroll County.
A deputy was dispatched to the 1600 block of 120th Street to check the welfare of a female. She was found to be safe.
A deputy was dispatched for a suspicious vehicle that was reported parked at the intersection of 130th Street and N Avenue. Upon the deputy’s arrival, the vehicle was located west of N Avenue on 130th Street after the vehicle was driven off the roadway. After an investigation and field sobriety testing, the deputy subsequently arrested Zachary Allen Powell 23, of Lake City, for OWI 1 st Offense – a Serious Misdemeanor.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
