The ADM girls basketball team is just a few days removed from a big win against Carroll where they held a Lady Tiger squad who averaged a conference best 55 points per game to 45 on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers have come a long way since day one and they’ve done so on both sides of the ball. Defensively ADM has shown more in the defensive category for longer with the fourth fewest points allowed inside the conference entering and exiting Tuesday’s contest. After Tuesday’s contest, the Lady Tigers have also seen their offensive numbers climb as well. Through the first four games, ADM has earned 159 total points and a 1-3 record while the past four games have witnessed an increase to 202 points and a 2-2 record.
Raccoon Valley Radio spoke with head coach Rick Dillinger about how his Lady Tiger squad has been able to to improve heading int the break.
“We are changing some things as we go, we went to zones for a while on defense and went back to man with a combination of zone and some press type of action. It’s a combination of things we’re still trying to improve on. Offensively we still have a way to improve. A lot of it is we’ve just got to gain more confidence with our outside shooting but it was nice that we did score outside tonight; when you score outside it of course opens up the middle for post players. As long as we keep working on our shooting and have a good attitude I think we’ll improve,” stated coach Dillinger.
Coach Dillinger’s team heads into the break 3-5 overall through 8 games and they will have a tough match up off the break in search of their 4th win on the road against Pella high school January 3rd.
