The 2016 Young Cattleman’s Leadership Program recently ended for the year.
Darrin Crawley from Guthrie County was one of 21 participants throughout the state that was in the program. The YCLP is through the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association and they meet four times a year. It is designed to develop leadership qualities for young farmers through leadership strategies, policy development, production practices and legislative advocacy. The program consistently graduates individuals that take on new leadership roles in the cattle industry, improve their own operations and serve as ambassadors for the next generation of cattle farmers.
The 2017 class has already been announced and Greene County’s Tanner Lawton is one of 28 individuals to participate next year.
