The boys’ basketball team has victories in six of its first eight games, the girls’ basketball team has equaled last season’s win total, and the wrestlers have three dual meets wins after not entering the win column in 2015-16. The wrestlers are finished with competition until January, while the basketball teams host Boone in non-conference play tonight in the middle school gym in Jefferson for their final 2016 competition.
Greene County Activities Director Dean Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio he’s pleased with how things have gone so far. “To have that kind of start is an awesome kickoff to the Winter season. Everyone’s competing really well.” Coach Lansman added he’s hoping things continue to go well in January and February.
The games tonight with Boone and Greene County can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with the girls’ playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.
