Taking a look back at the ADM boys basketball team’s victory over Carroll this past Tuesday night proved far more than just a win for the Tigers.

It proved more than just ADM’s defensive ability to stop a Carroll team leading the conference in shots made from beyond the arc. And it proved more than ADM’s ability to put up 70 points on a Carroll squad who held opponents to under 49 points per contest.

What coach Mager’s Tiger squad showed was their veteran poise which coach Mager spoke about with Raccoon Valley Radio after Tuesday’s game.

“I told them, I don’t want to say this  because I don’t want it to go away or jinx anything but you are showing maturity that veteran teams need to show. That’s going to help you in the ladder two thirds of the season and certainly in the post season where you don’t neccesarily get raddled when calls don’t go your way and you don’t get raddled when it gets physical. We didn’t complain and we just kept on plowing away and that was good. We’ve got some things clock management wise on offense a little bit, we’ve got some work there and just some execution certainly to get better at but it was good to go into the break with a win and we’ve just got to keep getting better but it was a good job by the guys,” explained coach Mager.

The Tigers will have a steep test off the break as they take to the road at Pella high school on January 3rd.
