The Greene County Community Center is once again having their food drive this week in Jefferson.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says anyone can use the rec center, regardless if you have a membership or not, from December 26th through the 31st if they bring one canned food item.

“We know that families come to Jefferson and we like to put our best foot forward. I think it helps families out because if you have a group of eight or nine people that would like to come in and workout at the rec center, play basketball or maybe they’re tired of being in the house and they need to get out, it’s pretty easy to bring a canned good to the rec center and be able to play for a couple of hours. It’s a little easier on people’s budget.”

All food items will be donated to the Greene County Action Resource Center.
