Onica Delp is a junior on the Greene County High School basketball team. The post player was asked how she views the first part of the season for the Rams, who are 3-7 at the break and have equaled the win total from all of last season. “For me personally, the first half’s been pretty good. I’m thankful to Dean (Lyons, the head coach) for giving me the opportunity to play as much as I’ve played. From last year I can tell that I’ve improved, and we’ve improved a lot as a team, and we’re working well together. For myself and the team I think we’ve come a long way from last year.”

The final two December games were losses to Class 4A top 10 rated teams in Nevada and Boone. Delp was asked how she approaches games like those. “I think it helps having a goal and wanting to meet that goal. I know with Nevada we had goals we wanted to meet, and we met those goals.”

The Rams play Perry at Perry on Tuesday, Jan. 3 to get the 2017 portion of the season underway.
