Grow Greene County logoThe deadline for an organization or entity to apply for competitive grants through Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation is at the end of this month.

The grant applications first opened on October 1st and the deadline to submit them is by January 31st. GGCGC President Norm Fandel says they will consider projects that are $35,000 or more, based on criteria as set up by the Grow Greene County Board.

“If someone is coming with a great project and it has a multiple-facet impact to more residents within the county or tourists that come in. So we certainly will take a look at different projects, we certainly want to make a big splash within the community and try to move us just a little bit better for quality of life issues.”

In 2016, Grow Greene County awarded competitive grants to the Churdan Library for their remodeling project, the Bell Tower Foundation to complete their carillon bell project, the Jefferson Fire Department to replace airpacks, Genesis Development for purchasing a conveyor and Greene County Conservation Department to finish paving the trail crossings on the Raccoon River Valley Trail.
