Award nominations for the Entrepreneur of the Year award and the Guy Powell award are due Friday.
The Entrepreneur of the Year award is an opportunity for small businesses to get recognition for their efforts. Nominees must be business based in Adair, Audubon, Greene or Guthrie county. It can be employees, owners or management teams. Self-nominations are accepted.
Success can be defined as as significant increase in sales, securing a large contract or innovation to a meaningful performance in a company or firm. Judges will be looking for specific achievements, as well as their impact on the region at large. Past recipients of this award include Rich & Reagan Osborne, Greene Bean Coffeehouse & Roastery.
The Guy Powell award is given to someone who “stands out” in the community. Either as outstanding leaders or someone creating innovations toward the future economically. The Midwest Partnership Development Corporation wants those who submitting nominations to think about vision, leadership, courage and impact. Past recipients include Eric Tiernan, Dr. Scott Smith and Dale Grotjohn.
Applications for both of these awards must be submitted by Friday to Sarah Gomez.
