The Perry Bluejays will get their first test in the new year tonight when they travel to Huxley to face Ballard.  The Raccoon River Conference boys race will be wide open with all 8 teams feeling they still have a shot.  Perry is 2-2 in conference play and currently trail Boone, Carlisle and Carroll by one game in the conference standings.  Ballard enters play an unlikely 1-3 in conference action.  Perry entered the Christmas break red hot erasing the frustrations of an 0-4 start with 2 lopsided victories over ADM and Winterset in the final week before the holidays.  Perry has been led all season by Janier Puente.  The senior power forward leads the conference in rebounding and is averaging near double double numbers in points and rebounds.  Kyle Nevitt found his stroke in the final 2 games averaging around 17 points in the two wins.  Shawn Kenney and Ned Menke will have the play by play tonight beginning at 730 on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
